+77 MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS t MAY 27, 1980 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, May 27, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange i County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, 7i and Commissioners Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson, Don Willhoit and Anne Barnes. The following modifications were made to the agenda: The Chairman deleted Agenda Item 6, a report by the Transportation Planner. The following items were added to the agenda: Agenda Item 12: Request for CommunitX Development Staff Agenda Item 13: Status Report on Community Based Alternative Funds Mr. Stuart Barbour presented the Board with a letter from the Eno River Group and a proposed resolution concerning the Eno State Park and requested an opportunity to address the Board further during the June 2nd meeting. Agenda Item 3: Land Title Records System The Board moved to the Register of Deeds Office to observe a demonstration by the Register of Deeds and Mr. Roscoe Reeve of the Land Title Records System. After the demonstration, the Board moved back to the Commissioners Room. Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, to approve a resolution authorizing the County to apply for a grant of $12,212 from the North Carolina State Land Records Management Program. Vote: ayes, Commissioners Whitted, Willhoit and Gustaveson; noes, 0. Commissioners Barnes and Walker were absent from the room during the vote. Agenda Item 5: Emergency Medical Services Mrs. Flora Garrett reviewed a report and recommendations she had prepared concerning Emergency Medical Services in Orange. County. Dr. Sara Dent, Mr: Benny Cecil , Chief of Orange County Rescue Squad; ' Ms. Margaret Cook, Captain,South Orange Rescue Squad; and Ms. Sue Whitfield, 3 Chairman of the Board, New Hope Rescue Squad, each spoke to Mrs. Garrett`s proposal.
