+77 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> t MAY 27, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br /> Tuesday, May 27, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange <br /> i County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br /> 7i <br /> and Commissioners Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson, Don Willhoit and <br /> Anne Barnes. <br /> The following modifications were made to the agenda: <br /> The Chairman deleted Agenda Item 6, a report by the Transportation Planner. <br /> The following items were added to the agenda: <br /> Agenda Item 12: Request for CommunitX Development Staff <br /> Agenda Item 13: Status Report on Community Based Alternative Funds <br /> Mr. Stuart Barbour presented the Board with a letter from the Eno <br /> River Group and a proposed resolution concerning the Eno State Park and <br /> requested an opportunity to address the Board further during the June 2nd <br /> meeting. <br /> Agenda Item 3: Land Title Records System <br /> The Board moved to the Register of Deeds Office to observe a demonstration <br /> by the Register of Deeds and Mr. Roscoe Reeve of the Land Title Records <br /> System. After the demonstration, the Board moved back to the Commissioners <br /> Room. <br /> Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, <br /> to approve a resolution authorizing the County to apply for a grant of <br /> $12,212 from the North Carolina State Land Records Management Program. <br /> Vote: ayes, Commissioners Whitted, Willhoit and Gustaveson; noes, 0. <br /> Commissioners Barnes and Walker were absent from the room during the vote. <br /> Agenda Item 5: Emergency Medical Services <br /> Mrs. Flora Garrett reviewed a report and recommendations she had <br /> prepared concerning Emergency Medical Services in Orange. County. <br /> Dr. Sara Dent, Mr: Benny Cecil , Chief of Orange County Rescue Squad; <br /> ' Ms. Margaret Cook, Captain,South Orange Rescue Squad; and Ms. Sue Whitfield, <br /> 3 Chairman of the Board, New Hope Rescue Squad, each spoke to Mrs. Garrett`s <br /> proposal. <br />
