4 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> APRIL 22, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session <br /> on Tuesday, April 22, 1980, at 3:00 p.m., in the Carrboro Town Hall , <br /> Carrboro, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, <br /> and Commissioners Anne Barnes and Norman Gustaveson. <br /> Commissioners absent: Commissioner Don Willhoit and Commissioner <br /> Norman Walker. <br /> The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a flood hazard insurance <br /> plan for Orange County. <br /> Ms. Carol Doyle, representative of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, <br /> and Mr. Ken Olds, Army Corps of Engineers-Wilmington District, discussed <br /> a recently completed flood hazard study. <br /> The Board requested the Planning Director publish an advertisement <br /> indicating the maps and flood plan study would be available to the <br /> tl public during certain hours at the Orange County Planning Department; <br /> that the government is allowed a 90-day period in which to appeal the <br /> maps, but that individuals ma y appeal still a pp particular tracts at the <br /> end of the 90-day period. <br /> The Board requested members of the Water Resources Planning and <br /> .
