MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JANUARY 28, 1980 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, January 28, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Roam, Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, and Commissioners Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson, Don Willhoit and Anne Barnes. The Tax Supervisor presented a slide show concerning property revaluation. The following items were added to the agenda: Agenda Item 13: Road Matter The Board requested the Clerk contact the Department of Transportation to request a load of gravel for the road in front of the Caldwell Fire Station. Agenda Item 11 G: Appointment to Youth Services Needs Task Force Agenda Item 12: EMS Planning Report Agenda Item 13: March Meeting Schedule Agenda Item 14: Chapel Hill-Carrboro Multipurpose Center Agenda Item 15: County Switchboard Agenda Item 3: Minutes Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to approve the minutes of January 15, 1980 as submitted. Vote; ayes, 5; noes, 0. Agenda Item 4: Community Development Preapplication Grant Mr. C. U. Moore, Chairman of the Community Development Task Force, reviewed for the Board the major items in the Community Development Grant preapplication. Mr. Moore introduced Mr. Nathaniel Wells, CD Task Force member, and Mr. Don Meserve, CD Coordinator. Agenda Item 6A: Tax Refunds The Tax Supervisor explained Mrs. Lee Estes (Acct. No. 6821 in Hillsborough Township) had erroneously listed her 1971 Pontiac as a 1974 model on her 1979 tax abstract. Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, to approve a refund of $17.16 to Michael Edward and Lee Estes for 1979 taxes. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0.
