Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br />Proclamation <br />County Clerks Week <br />May 3 through May 9, 2009 <br />Whereas, The Office of the County Clerk, a time honored and vital part of local <br />government exists throughout the world, and <br />Whereas, The Office of the County Clerk is the oldest among public servants and <br />Whereas, The Office of the County Clerk provides the professional link between <br />the residents, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other <br />levels, and <br />Whereas, County Clerks have pledged to be ever mindful of their neutrality and <br />impartiality, rendering equal service to all, and <br />Whereas, The County Clerk serves as the information center on functions of local <br />government and community, and <br />Whereas, .County Clerks continually strive to improve the administration of the <br />affairs of the Office of the County Clerk by serving countless hours beyond the <br />normal business day working a multitude of night and weekend meetings, and <br />Whereas, It is most appropriate that we recognize the accomplishments of the <br />Office of the County Clerk; <br />Now, Therefore, We, The Orange County Board of Commissioners, do recognize <br />the week of May 3 through May 9, 2009 as County Clerks Week and further <br />extend appreciation to our County Clerk, Donna Baker and to all County Clerks <br />for the vital services they perform and their exemplary dedication to the <br />communities they represent. <br />This the 5th day of May, 2009 <br />Valerie Foushee, Chair <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
