~~~ MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMT55IONERS MAY 7, 1979 The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, Nlay 7, 1979, at 10:00 a.m., in the Gommissioners Room, of the Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard E. Whitted, Chairman, and Commissioners Norman Gustaveson, Norman Walker, Anne Barnes and Don Willhoit. Commissioner Gustaveson, Vice Chairman, chaired the meeting until Commissioner Whitted arrived. Agenda Item 1: Agenda Modifications Commissioner Barnes requested an opportunity to make two announcements under Agenda Item 25 - Announcements. The Board requested the Health Director make a report concerning a matter that had arisen at the Board of Equalisation and Review meeting on May 3. Agenda Item 2: Items of Public Concern No member of the audience wished to address the Board on items not listed on the agenda. Mr. Wilson McKerrow,-Chairman of the Council on Aging; Mr. Frank Frederick, Clerk of Court; and Mrs Josephine Barbour each expressed desire to address the Board during discussion of specific agenda items. Agenda Item 3: Minutes Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded 6y Commissioner Willhoit, the Board approve the minutes of the April 17, 1979 meeting. Vote: ayes, 4; noes, 0. Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, the Board approve the minutes of the April Z3, 1979 meeting. Vote: ayes, 4; noes, 0. Agenda Item 4: Additional Office Space Mr. Frank Frederick, Clerk of Court, requested additional office space for additional Clerk of Gourt personnel. Commissioner Walker left the meeting for a short period of time. Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Barnes, to refer the item of additional office space for Clerk of Court personnel to the County Manager. Vote: ayes, 3; noes, 0.
