°~-~r <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COl1NTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />APRIL 10, 1979 <br />The Board of Commissioners met in special session, on Tuesday, <br />April 10, 1979, at 7:30 p. m., in the Commissioners Room of the Orange <br />County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Vlhitted, Chairman, <br />and Commissioners Anne Barnes, Don 4lillhoit, Norman Gustaveson and <br />Norman 4lalker. <br />The fpllowing items were added to the agenda: <br />Agenda Item 6: Meeting with Chapel Hill Aldermen <br />Agenda Item 2: Items of Public Concern <br />Mr. Ben Lloyd requested a representative of the Farm and Landowner's <br />Association be allowed to participate in the Orange County Mater Resource <br />Planning and Protection Task Force. <br />Mrs, Josephine Barbour requested wider citizen representation on this <br />task force. <br />Commissioner 4lillhoit requested this item be placed on the April 17th <br />agenda far discussion, <br />Mr, Randall 41au9h asked the township advisory council's role in the <br />joint planning processes, <br />The Chairman requested the Planning Director address h1r. 4laugh's <br />question when he made his presentation concerning joint planning. <br />Agenda Item 3: Minutes <br />Commissioner Barnes moved, seconded by Commissioners 4lillhoit, the <br />minutes of April 2, 1979 be approved as corrected. Vote: ayes, 5; noes, 0, <br />Agenda Item 4: Joint Planning <br />The Planning Director submitted an Issue Paper concerning .joint planning <br />and its implementation.. For copy of this paper, see page 337 of this book. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to discuss the objectives of joint <br />planning and the possibility of holding a oublic hearing in May on proposed <br />amendments to the subdivision ordinance at the next Commissioners meeting <br />on April 17th -- should the Chapel Hill Board of Aldermen not be able to <br />attend. <br />
