Year-To-Date Budget <br />Summary <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />I INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget amendments for fiscal year 2007-08. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />1. Department of Social Services <br />The Department of Social Services (DSS) has received Foster Care donations totaling $2,425 <br />from citizen donations to offset costs of on-going needs of foster care children. This <br />amendment sets these donations aside in the Department's special Adoption Enhancement <br />Fund, outside of the General Fund. (See Attachment. l , column #1). <br />2. Department on Aging <br />The Department on Aging has received additional revenue for the following programs: <br />~. Frail Elderly -receipt of donated funds totaling $2,000 this fiscal year for the Eldercare <br />division's Frail Elderly Program. The department plans to use these funds to assist at- <br />risk older adults in maintaining their independent living. <br />~~ Community Based Services -receipt of additional class and rental fees at the senior <br />centers totaling $18,000. The department plans to use these funds to pay instructors and <br />other class expenses at the Seymour and Central Orange Senior Centers. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds. (See Attachment 1, column <br />#2) <br />
