Lands Legacy Capital <br />Project Ordinance <br />PUBLIC HEARING:' (Y/N) No <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2007- <br />08. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department of Social Services <br />1: The Department of Social Services has received Adoption Enhancement Fund donations: <br />• Foster Care Donations - $4,960 to provide for on-going needs of foster care children. <br />• General Assistance Donations - $13,100 to aid special-needs clients, including senior <br />citizens. <br />• Adoption Services Donations - $200 to offset the cost of adoption services. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds for the above stated <br />purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #1) <br />2. The Department of Social Services has received notification additional State funds: <br />• Long-Term Screening - a $244 reimbursement for costs incurred by the County, in <br />November 2007, for the Community Alternative Program, a program that provides in- <br />home care alternatives to patients instead of conventional institutional settings. These <br />funds will offset costs of long-term care medical supplies/equipment to help clients <br />remain in their homes. <br />
