Welcome, Introductions, and Opening Remarks <br /> Mayor Foy called the meeting to order. Mayor Stevens and Commission Chair <br /> Foushee welcomed everyone. <br /> Mayor Foy said the assembly would take public comment. <br /> 2. Public Comment Period <br /> Bonnie Hauser, Orange County resident, voiced her opposition to an airport. She <br /> said there were more than 1,000 members in opposition. She said they feel <br /> underrepresented, and that the challenge is the waste transfer station. She noted that <br /> a petition had been submitted regarding the waste transfer station. <br /> Judith Ferter, Orange County Sierra Club, noted that she had emailed members of <br /> the assembly and was there to express support for the new Jordan Lake rules as <br /> submitted. <br /> 3. Receive a petition from Rogers' Road residents <br /> Minister Robert Campbell addressed the petition submitted by Rogers' Road <br /> residents. He said the community had bore the burden of all of the community's <br /> trash and had been denied public services. He said each petition requesting <br /> services in the past had been delayed for some reason. He said the <br /> recommendation is that all entities should collaborate to find funds for the Rogers <br /> Road — Eubanks community. He said the petition submitted by the residents in <br /> December 2008 included a list of available funding sources.
