<br />The Board took the following action in resolving the above appeals:
<br />The assessment of Mary J. Cory's property was zeduced from $52,400
<br />to $47,500; the appeals of D. C. & D. N. Stallings were heard although these
<br />appellants weze unable to appear before the Board; resolution of their appeals was
<br />postponed to allow futher study; the University Land Co., Inc. property valuation
<br />was reduced by the Board from $485,200 to $318,200; the assessment of Howard L.
<br />Stewart's property was reduced from S25,SOD to $24,100; the appeal .of Harold Daye
<br />was not resolved pending further study; the valuation of the property of George
<br />Tate was reduced from $18,900 to 513,700; the Eva Brewer Hrs. appeal was not resolved
<br />pending further study; the appeals of T. G. Donnelly and W. B. Upchurch were not
<br />resolved to allow further consideration; the Board. determined to adjust the valuation
<br />of the Gales Perry lot in accordance with its adjusted sales price; the appeals of
<br />Chapel Hill Country Club, Inc. and Rock Spring Farms, Inc, were not resolved pending
<br />further consideration.
<br />The Board adjourned to zeconvene at 7:00 P.M., June 13, 1974 in the Commissioners'
<br />Room of the Orange County Courthouse.

<br />June 13, 1974
<br />The 1974 Orange County Board of Equalization and Review convened at 7:00 P.M.,
<br />Thursday, June 13, 1974, in the Commissioners Room of the Orange County Courthouse.
<br />Members Present: Chairman C. Norman Walker, Commiasioners Henry 5. Walker,
<br />Flora Garrett, and Richard Whitted.
<br />Members Absent: Commissioner Melvin Whitfield.
<br />The Board heard appeals from 1974 real property tax valuations for the indicated
<br />properties from the following persons:

<br />The Board declined to alter the valuation of the John H. Williams property;
<br />resolution of the James C. Parsons appeal was deferred pending further consideration
<br />as was the appeal o£ Eva W. Warren. The Board resolved the following appeals heard
<br />at earlier sessions: the E. C. Leonard Playground Association (appeal heard May 16,
<br />1974) real property tax valuation was reduced from $6,400 to $4,500; the real
<br />property valuation appealed by the Ridgewood Club of Chapel Hill., Inc. (May 16, 1974)
<br />was reduced from 596,400 to $83,900; the tax valuation of the property owned by
<br />Clayton Hamby (appeal heard May 15, 1974) was reduced by the soard from $3D,80D to
<br />$29,600; the assessment of the property of M. H. Baker (appeal heard May 28, 1974)
<br />was reduced from 523,800 to 518,70D.
<br />The Board adjourned to reconvene only for the purpose of resolving those 1974
<br />appeals already heard but not yet adjudicated.
