<br /> The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County not in regular session on
<br /> Monday, June.3, 1974, at 10 o'clock A.M. in the Commissioners Room at the Court-
<br /> hoase in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
<br /> Members Present: Chairman C. Norman Walker, .and Commissioners Henry S. Walker,
<br /> Flora Garrett, Richard E. Whitted, and Melvin Whitfield.
<br /> Members Absent: None.
<br /> S. M. Gattia, County Administrator, and Betty June Hayes, Clark to the Board,
<br /> were also present.
<br /> The minutes of.the May.6 and May 21 meetings were approved after some deletions
<br /> were made in the minutes of the 6th meeting and some insertions in the minutes
<br /> of the 21st meeting. The minutes of the May 27 meeting were not considered.
<br /> Chairman Walker referred the Board to Item I on the Agenda: (From County
<br /> Planning Board: Minor Plate: A. Lowell Petty, B. Gail.B. Hill, C. William
<br /> Lassiter, D. Carl Sparrow Estate. Preliminary Plat: A. .Section 6, Falls of
<br /> New Hope. Revieion, Final Plat: A. Lockridge Community.)
<br /> Clayton Haithoock, County Planning Officer, presented the following plate:
<br /> Minor Plate
<br /> A. Lowell.Petty, 1.91 acres, Eno Township, dated April 30, 1974-
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner Melvin
<br /> Whitfield, it was moved and adopted, that said plht be approved.
<br /> B. Gail B, Hi11, Three (3) tracts and sixty (601) foot easement, Eno Township,
<br /> dated April 26, 1974.
<br /> Upon motion.of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner Melvin
<br /> Whitfield, it was .moved and adopted, that said plat be approved.
<br /> C. William Lassiter, 1 acre and easement, Chapel Hill Township, dated May 14, 1974.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Melvin Whitfield, seconded by Commissioner Henry S.
<br /> Walker, it was moved and,.adopted, that said plat be approved.
<br /> D. Carl Sparrow Estate. Five (5) tracts, Chapel Hill. Township, dated December 12,
<br /> 1973. Mr. Haithoock stated that the dedicated road did not extend throughout
<br /> the entire property, however, if any further development was continued then
<br /> the road must be brought up to State specifications. He noted that a sixty foot
<br /> (601) right of way had been included, but that this property was not being
<br /> divided except among the heirs of Carl Sparrow. Discussion ensued. It was
<br /> moved that said.plat be approved.
<br /> Preliminary Plat
<br /> A. Section 6, Falls of New Hope, Twenty (20) lots, Chapel Hill Township, dated
<br /> May 15, 1974.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner Flora
<br /> Garrett, it was moved and adopted, that said plat be approved.
<br /> Revision Final Plat
<br /> A. Lockridge Community, Chapel Hill Township, dated May 7,1974. '
<br /> The Zoning Officer informed the Board that.the Health Department had found on
<br /> the fact that all septic tanks had at one time located on this plat in one common
<br /> area and that the plat had been revised to have each septic tank placed on
<br /> individual lots and that this plat had been revised for the purpose of complying
<br /> with the Health Departments request.
<br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Richard.Whitted, seconded by Commissioner Flora
<br /> Garre.tt, .it was moved and adopted, that said plat be approved.
<br /> Chairman Walker referred the Board to Item II on the Agendas (Mr. I. S.
<br /> V i Newton asked-to re-open the request for zoning 2.38 acres from Agricultural
<br /> District to a General Cammercial District, Tax.Map 17, Lot #16-A, Community
<br /> Convenience Store, property adjoins Carol Woods Retirement Center. This was
<br /> tabled by the Board of Commissioners in July, 1973. Zoning request had been -
<br /> approved by the Planning Board in June of 1973. Board of Adjustments approved
<br /> Carol Wood! "Center on October 8, 1973.
