~ 7 - ~~ ~~~ MINIITES OF THE ORANGE CO:TI3TY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />August 1, 19.72 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County mat in special session <br />in the Courtroom of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina on Tuesday, <br />August 1, 1972, at 8 o~aloak P.M. <br />Members Present; Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />Chairman Bennett declared that this was the time and plane for the public <br />hearing to consider certain zoning proposals. For minutes of this public hearing <br />see the Orange County Planning Board minute docket. <br />At the conclusion of the public hearing Chairman Bennett called the members <br />of the County $oard of Commissioners together for a meeting. Chairman Bennett <br />stated that the $oard had received requests from citizens and from Duke IIniversity <br />asking the postponement of the public hearing which had been scheduled for <br />Thursday, August 3, 1972. The August 3rd meeting wsa the time in which the Board <br />would consider the ra-zoning of a parcel oP land in Chapel Hill Townahi.p froci <br />residential to rural industrial and that this request had been filed in order to <br />allow a sanitary landfill operation on this particular tract oP land. Discussion <br />ensued. <br />The Board agreed to proceed with the scheduled public hearing. Chairman <br />Bennett then declared the request for postponement denied. <br />The developer of Wo1P~a Pond submitted a plat for Section 3 of the development <br />for approval. He stated that weather conditions had prevented him from preparing <br />the roads according to State specifications. The Board approved the plat, but <br />directed the County Administrator not to sign the certificate of approval. until <br />the State Highway Commission advia.ed the County that the said roads in Section 3 <br />of Wolfs Pond met the State apeaifications. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was <br />ad3ourned,to meet again on August 3, 1972. <br />Harvey D. M. in <br />the Courtroom of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D, Bennett and Commissioners William C. Ray, <br />Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: Nano <br />Chairman Bennett called the meeting to order and announced that this was the <br />time and plane of the duly advertised public hearing. Chairman Bennett turned the <br />chair over to GSovauni Mi6hol,i~ice Chairman of the County Planning Board. Mr. <br />Mico1 conductea the public hearing.
