In late April, the security guard services were relocated from the Eno River <br /> Parking Deck to the Drakeford Library Complex to begin providing services at the new location. <br /> Despite this change in location, the hours of service remained the same. <br /> The current contract term expires on June 30, 2026. Continuation of these services at the new <br /> location ensures the safety of staff and the community at the Drakeford Library Complex. The <br /> County Manager's recommended budget included an increase in service hours to cover the <br /> afternoon and evening operating hours during the week and full coverage during library operating <br /> hours on the weekends for an additional 12-month term (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027). The <br /> proposed contract notes an increase in cost from $97,925 to $116,359, with a difference of <br /> $18,434. The Manager's recommended budget detailed an allocation of $129,083 for security <br /> services based on previous estimates. The County will receive revenue from the Town of Carrboro <br /> to offset the cost of security guard services. Security guard services at the Eno River Parking <br /> Deck are not proposed to resume at this time. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The County's annual payment of $116,359 (budgeted $129,083) was <br /> included in the FY 2026-27 Manager's recommended budget. The total revenue received from <br /> Carrboro to offset the cost of security guard services will be $37,000. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 6.
