1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: April 21, 2026 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-k <br /> SUBJECT: Removal of Boards and Commissions Members Due to 2025 Attendance <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Clerk's Office, 919-245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the removal of appointees from several boards and commissions due to <br /> 2025 attendance in follow-up to Board discussion at the April 14, 2026 work session. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Board of County Commissioners' Advisory Board Policy <br /> (as in effect during calendar year 2025) required members to attend at least 75% of scheduled <br /> meetings within a twelve-month period in order to maintain membership. The Advisory Board <br /> Policy also states that members who miss three consecutive meetings are subject to removal. <br /> At the April 14, 2026 Work Session, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) discussed <br /> removing members from boards and commissions who violated the attendance requirements in <br /> the Advisory Board Policy in 2025.
