1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: June 17, 2025 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-c <br /> SUBJECT: Changes in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2025 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Draft 2025 BOCC Meeting Calendars Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board, 919- <br /> 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2025. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br /> the Meeting Schedule. <br /> It is proposed to schedule two (2) Board of Commissioners` retreats to be held on November 14, <br /> 2025 and November 21, 2025 at the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. The retreat on November <br /> 14 will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, and the retreat on November 21 will be held from 1:00 <br /> pm to 5:00 pm. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GUIDING PRINCIPLE — COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS <br /> We provide information and opportunities for engagement in a transparent manner so that <br /> all in our community have knowledge, understanding, and a voice. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its meeting calendar for <br /> 2025 and conduct retreats on November 14, 2025 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, and on November <br /> 21, 2025 from 1 :00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. <br />
