This Committee will study all energy emergency plans affecting residents <br />of Orange, including those of utilities, Civil Defense, etc. These plans <br />shall be coordinated into one master plan in order to provide information <br />and guidance in time of energy emergency. <br />3. The Committee will work to ensure that emergency vehicles and other <br />identified priority users have access to fuel in any type of crisis. <br />4. The Committee will work to ensure farmers of a fuel supply adequate to <br />plant and/or harvest food crops during fuel shortages. <br />5. The Committee will inform local businesses of the state Set-Aside <br />Program and assist them in applying for relief. <br />6. Civil Preparedness, Emergency Medical Services and other county <br />departments will be asked to cooperate with activities of the Energy <br />Emergency Committees. <br />C~ <br />J <br />POLICY III. ORANGE COUNTY RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES WILL <br />BE PROVIDED WITH .ASSISTANCE IN ENERGY <br />CONSERVATION AND INFORMATION ON WAYS TO <br />CURTAIL ENERGY USES. <br />The County Energy Office will <br />Offer to help businesses develop incentive programs which encourage <br />employees to carpool, vanpool, or use public transportation. <br />2. Provide for homeowners or renters information on energy conservation <br />techniques appropriate to their situation. <br />POLICY IV: THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />WII,L PROMOTE DEVELOPMENT OF ENERGY SOURCES <br />INDEGENOUS TO ORANGE COUNTY. <br />Capital improvements programs should include demonstration of <br />alternative energy use whenever feasible. <br />• <br />
