,i <br />The Board considered making new appointments to the Orange County Planning <br />Board. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, to appoint Terri Buckner. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner Nelson to <br />appoint Roderick Jones to the at-large position. <br />Commissioner Gordon pointed out that Terri Buckner is already on the OWASA Board. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS (for Roderick Jones) <br />e. Solid Waste Advisory Board -New Appointment <br />The Board considered making one new appointment to the Solid Waste Advisory <br />Board. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Foushee, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to <br />appoint Fred Battle to a full term ending June 30, 2010. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />11. Information Items <br />• Memorandum from Animal Services Director to County Manager Regarding the Final <br />Report of Animal Services Advisory Board Task Force on "Keeping of Wild Animals" <br />Ordinance <br />• Memorandum from Planning Department Regarding Citizen Concerns with Churton Grove <br />Planned Development <br />12. Closed Session <br />Geof Gledhill presented an update to the items, with more detail, as required by the <br />law. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Foushee to <br />adjourn into closed session at 10:44 p.m. for the purpose of: <br />Pursuant to G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(3) "to consult with an attorney retained by the Board in order <br />to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the Board concerning the <br />cases of Doug Robins and Chapel Hill Bituminous Concrete, Inc. vs. Town of Hillsborough, <br />North Carolina and the Town of Hillsborough Board of Adjustment, et. al., Orange County <br />Superior Court File Nos 07-CVS-1512 and 07-CVS-1513, and other matters." <br />Pursuant to G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(5) "to discuss the County's position and to instruct the <br />County Manager and County Attorney on the negotiating position regarding the terms of <br />contracts to purchase and to lease real property, PIN 9870 77 6296, owned by Jacqueline <br />Upperman, to be used for potential future expansion space for the Animal Services Facility and <br />Landfill buffer space; <br />And the terms of a contract to lease real property PIN 9864 80 7829, owned by Tri-Cor, Inc., to <br />be used for office space for county operations." <br />Pursuant to G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(4) "to discuss matters related to the location of a business in <br />Orange County." <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />
