APPROVED 12/3/2007 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />October 23, 2007 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, <br />October 23, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, North <br />Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey and Commissioners <br />Valerie P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, Barry Jacobs, and Mike Nelson <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONER ABSENT: <br />COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Laura Blackmon, Assistant County <br />Managers Willie Best and Gwen Harvey, and Clerk to the Board Donna S. Baker (All other <br />staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br />NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE PERMANENT <br />AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. <br />1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br />The pink sheet is for item 6-a. The aqua sheet is the regular report on the water levels. <br />The orange sheet is a resolution supporting water conservation by all Orange County citizens. <br />This item was added as agenda item 3-c. <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />2. <br />a. Orange County Arts Grant Recipients <br />The Board presented checks to local artists and arts organizations receiving Orange <br />County Arts Grants. <br />Martha Shannon said that the Orange County Artist Guild annual open studio tour is the <br />first two weekends in November. This year it is November 3-4 and November 10-11. Also, on <br />November 13th, Orange County will be hosting the Public Art Administrator's Roundtable for the <br />State Arts Council in Hillsborough. The topic for that meeting is "Public Art in Small Towns" <br />
