<br />''r,r <br />PAGE 3S2 MINIITE3 OF THE ORANaE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />April 5, 1971 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in regular session <br />at 10:00 o~elock A.M. on Monday, April 5, 1971, in the Commi ssioners Room at <br />the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commi ssioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker, Tra A. Ward and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />The minutes were read and approved after eorreotiona were made in the March <br />1, 1971 meeting. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Ebert Pierce, Chairman of the Agriculture <br />Extension Servio®. Mr. Pierce filed, with the Board, a list of the applications <br />which had been received for emplogment in the Nutrition Aid Program. He recuasted that the County <br />Zoning Officer be authorized, by the Board, to serve as the Town Zoning Dfficer. <br />The Board inquired of the County Attorney as to the legality of this reoueat. <br />Mayor Cates stated that he had already researnhed the matter and that Mr, Long <br />could act as Zoning Officer for the County and the Town.
