DATE AMOUNT REASON <br />REVISIONS <br />Thomsa Breeze 1~,/1/71 75 - 101 To include cost of shelter <br />and utilities. <br />Marvin darrstt !}/1/71 b$ - 53 Decreased coat of room <br />and board. <br />SAME <br />Clayton Roberson 1}/1/71 g7 ~ <br />The Social Services Director reported to the Board that he had received <br />a letter from the State Department of Social Services advising him that the ~ <br />State Administrative Eoualization Funds would be revised effective duly 1 <br />1971, and the formula which formerlq allotted Orange County thirteen (1381 <br />per sent of its administration exnensss would now allot Orange County only <br />five point sixty-eight (5,68;0 percent from the State Administrative ,I <br />Equalization Find, It is estimated that this change in policy will cost <br />Orange County an additional $15,000 per ysar. Commissioner Ray advised the <br />Board that the Social Services Board had appealed this revision formula as it <br />is being applied to Orange County. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Tra A. Ward, seconded by Commissioner <br />FIenry 3, Walker, it was moved and adopted that the Board of Commissioners <br />approve the action of the Board of Social Services in their appeal for a <br />- review of the revised Formula, and that the County Administrator and the , <br />Director of Social Services bs authorized to represent Orange County before <br />the Commissioners of Social Services. ~ <br />_ Chairman Bennett recognized Norman Long, Zoning Officer. The. final <br />plat of P1ns V1ew Estates was presented with recommendations from the <br />Planning Board that same be approved for filing. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hsnry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Ira A, Ward, it was moved and adopted that the recommendation of the County <br />Planning Board be accented and Chairman Rarvey Sennett was authorized to <br />sign said plat. <br />A public hearing for zoning matters was scheduled for Tuesday, April <br />6, 1971, at 8 P,M, at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Chairman Sennett recognized Mr a. Robert Isleq, President of the j <br />Hillsborough Historical Society. Mrs. Isleq introduced Don Matheson, <br />Elizabeth Collins and Alexander Shepard to the Board. She stated that ~ <br />they were present to diacusa with the Board what plans, if anq, the Cvuntq <br />had relative to the Battle of Alamance B3,_Centennial Committee. Chairman <br />Bennett informed the group that letters had been reaeived from each <br />Historical group in the countq and that the Board would appoint a <br />Committee made up oP members from each of these groups to proceed with the <br />plans for Orange Cqunty~s partia.ipation in the Bi-Centennial. <br />Chairman Bennett presented a resolution relative to the County~s ; <br />participation in the program of the North Carolina Committee on Law and <br />Order. 'Disausaion ensued. The County Administrator advised the Board that <br />Orange County had not officially ~ginad the LAW AND ORDER TRIANf~LE COMMISSION <br />and that before the Sheriff could participate a resolution must be adopted <br />bq the Board. <br />r- <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ira A. l+iard, seconded by Commissioner <br />Renrq S, Walker the following resolution was adopted: ; <br />
