Harvey, Planner 245 -2607 <br />PURPOSE: To hold a public hearing in order to receive public comments concerning on a <br />petition submitted by both Planning staff and the property owner, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis and Tracy <br />Jones, to rezone 4115 Old NC 10 (TMBL 5.26.:40 / PIN 9893 -00- 8606). <br />BACKGROUND: The property in question is approximately two point eight (2.8) acres in area, <br />is located within the Eno Township, is zoned EC -5 Lower Eno Protected Watershed Overlay <br />District, and is designated as being within the Rural Residential land use category as detailed <br />within the Comprehensive Plan. <br />PETITION REQUEST: Staff and the property owner are requesting that the property be rezoned: <br />From: Existing Commercial Five (EC -5) <br />To: Rural Residential One (R -1) <br />EXISTING LAND USES: The subject property is utilized to support a single - family residence. <br />SURROUNDING LAND USES: NORTH: Across Old NC 10 there are several properties zoned <br />R -1 with one (1) parcel zoned EC -5. The area is <br />predominately comprised of single - family residential <br />land uses including a mobile home park. <br />SOUTH: Property to the south is zoned R -1. <br />EAST: Property to the east is zoned R -1 and includes the <br />Weldon Ridge single - family residential subdivision. <br />
