18
1 Right now I see no evidence that implementing this plan in its current form will significantly
2 correct two of my greatest concerns: the shortage of commercial and industrial development
3 which places to much burden on residential property taxes and the inadequate supply of
4 affordable and workforce housing in the County.
5
6 Other than delaying approval and improving the current plan prior to implementation, (believe
7 the key to obtaining these and other long-desired outcomes is to use the implementation phase
8 to transforms the document's encyclopedic character into a visionary document that is clear in
9 its priorities and unequivocally supported by a broad array of interest groups.
10
11 Absent such a transformation, I doubt the proposed Comprehensive Plan will significantly alter
12 the Status Quo.
13
14 Allan Rosen, Orange County, NC
15
16 Vision Statement
1'7 The Orange County Comprehensive Plan Coalition
18
19 August 6, 2007
20
21 In October 2006, the Orange County Board of Commissioners initiated atwo-year process to
22 update the county's Comprehensive Plan.
