Triangle J Council of <br />24 Governments is the administrator and lead planning a_gency for the <br />2s TARPO, and coordinates transportation plans and programs and <br />26 land use policies and programs in the four-county planning area. <br />27 The genera/ purpose and responsibilities of the Rural Planning <br />28 Organization are to: <br />29 <br />30 7. Develop long-range local and regional multi-modal <br />31 transportation plans in cooperation with the area Metropolitan <br />32 Planning Organizations (MPOs) and the NCDOT. <br />33 <br />34 2. Provide a forum for public participation in the rural <br />35 transportation planning process. <br />36 <br />37 3. Develop and prioritize suggestions for transportation projects <br />38 that the RPO believes should be included in the State <br />39 Transportation Improvement Program (ST1P). <br />40 <br />41 4.
