54

In 2008, Orange County Schools completed a series of studies that will increase
efficiency and improve responsiveness district-wide. The Orange County Board
of Education approved a re-allocation of Title I funding that will provide district
resents with three pre-kindergarten classrooms for early intervention.
In the fall of 2003, Orange County Schools organized a task force of parents,
students, community members, teachers, school administrators, and other staff
to develop afive-year strategic plan for the district, which was later adopted by
the district. Since that time, the plan has guided programmatic, operational, and
financial decisions within the district, using five overarching priorities:
1. High Student Achievement;
2. Healthy Students in Safe and Caring Schools;
3. Quality Teachers, Administrators, and Staff;
4. Strong Family, Business, and Community Support; and
5. Effective and Efficient Operation.
