There are <br />no changes to the County's Land Use Plan (Map) or land use categories incorporated into the <br />draft Plan. This Plan update effort is designed to establish a common data base, to pull <br />together existing ideas and information that heretofore have been scattered among a series of <br />topic-specific plans and documents, and to set the stage for subsequent community discussions <br />about implementation strategies. <br />Public Access to Materials <br />All key documents that have been produced during development of the draft Comprehensive <br />Plan, including materials that outline the planning process, have been posted on the County's <br />website. Following is the address to the Comprehensive Plan Update Webpage: <br />www.co.orange. nc. us/planning/compre_cpupdate.asp <br />PLANNING BOARD RECOMMENDATION: <br />At its October 1, 2008 regular meeting, the Planning Board unanimously recommended <br />adoption of the draft Comprehensive Plan to include the revisions reflected in the Plannin~ <br />Board's Table of Proposed Revisions, which was provided in its entirety for the October 7 <br />BOCC meeting. <br />Attachment 1 includes the Planning Board's proposed revisions that have been accepted by the <br />BOCC through its review process. Line items that the BOCC is revising have been omitted from <br />Attachment 1 and notations provided to indicate such. <br />BOCC REVIEW PROCESS: <br />The BOCC held a work session on October 14th to review the Planning Board's proposed text <br />revisions to the draft Comprehensive Plan and to convey its required revisions to staff. The <br />BOCC also discussed final text revisions at its meeting on November 6th. Attachment 2 <br />includes all of the BOCC revisions that have been developed during its review process. <br />The majority of the revisions that the BOCC is making to the draft Comprehensive Plan and/or <br />the text revisions recommended by the Planning Board do not change the meaning or intent of <br />the original language. Most BOCC revisions provide clarifying language, additional <br />complementary information, or correction of minor errors. Staff has prepared Attachment 3 as a <br />
