<br />Public Health Education Programs Manager/Health <br />Page 2 <br />o Develops and maintains local Refugee Health Advisory group and email list to promote <br />communication between health care agencies. <br />o Establish and maintain relationships with local. and state refugee resettlement agencies and <br />sponsors. <br />o Coordinate and establish memoranda of agreement with other agencies as appropriate and as <br />approved by the Health Director. <br />o Designs and utilizes community feedback to guide project efforts or to provide technical <br />assistance. (i.e. focus groups, surveys, satisfaction questionnaires) <br />o Serve on local and state level agency and interagency committees, boards and planning <br />groups to facilitate the coordination of efforts and promote immigrant and refugee <br />knowledge of and access to health and safety resources and services. (Le. Refugee Advisory <br />Council; OMHHD; Hispanic Health Advisory Group; CALDO; IEC) <br />o Collect and compile an up-to-date Immigrant and Refugee Health resource list. <br />o Explore international, national, university and other local connections to assist the Health <br />Department in improving services. <br />o Perform duties requested by agency. (I.e. reports; language assistance; outreach guidance <br />during emergencies). <br />KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: <br />o Knowledge of the principles and practices of community-based health agencies and <br />social work. <br />o Knowledge of theories, principles, methods, and techniques used in preparing and <br />disseminating public health educational information. <br />o Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations. <br />o Knowledge of county ordinances. <br />o Knowledge of department policies and procedures. <br />o Knowledge of basic marketing principles and practices. <br />o Knowledge of the culture of various ethnic minorities. <br />o Knowledge of available community resources. <br />o Skill in facilitating meetings and training classes. <br />o Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work. <br />
