The lines will be routed around existing trees, <br />and no trees will be removed to complete this project. <br />Specifications were developed by staff to meet the County's needs. The bid call was advertised on <br />the County's website. Bids were solicited from ten vendors on Orange County Bid number 1558. <br />Four bidders responded to the bid call. Attached is a tabulation of that bid. Integrated Communication <br />Services (ICS) of Raleigh, North Carolina submitted the lowest responsive bid that was responsible at <br />a total cost of $56,200. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Total cost of this action would be $60,244. Of that amount $40,450 is for Solid <br />Waste. Sufficient funds are allocated in the Solid Waste Management Department FY 2008-09 <br />operating budget. The other $15,750 is allocated the Animal Shelter project budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board award bid number 1558 to <br />Integrated Communication Services (ICS) of Raleigh, North Carolina at a total cost of $56,200 and <br />authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork. <br />
