Bid Award: Hook Truck for Solid Waste <br /> The Board awarded a bid to Triad Freightliner of Greensboro, North Carolina at a delivered <br /> cost of $157,975, for a Hook Truck for Orange County Solid Waste; and authorized the <br /> Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork. <br /> e. Bid Award: Two (2) 40 Cubic Yard, Front Loader Refuse Trucks <br /> The Board awarded a bid for the purchase of two (2) 40 Cubic Yard High Compaction Body <br /> Front Loader Refuse Truck from Piedmont Peterbilt of Greensboro, North Carolina at a <br /> delivered cost of $433,996; authorized the Purchasing Director to execute the necessary <br /> paperwork; and authorized the Finance Director to solicit a Request for Proposal to finance <br /> one vehicle, with the results of the solicitation to be brought back for Board approval at a later <br /> date. <br /> f. Minutes <br /> The Board considered correcting and/or approving the minutes from May 8, 27, 29, <br /> June 3, 5, 12, and July 31, 2008 as submitted by the Clerk to the Board. <br /> Commissioner Nelson asked about the delay in the approval of minutes and Clerk to <br /> the Board Donna Baker told him that, due to summer break and the multitude of minutes, the <br /> meetings usually get piled up. The minutes are almost caught up. She said that some <br /> meetings are given priority, such as the transfer station siting meetings. She said that the <br /> laser fiche system is running, so it will make searching the minutes much easier for the public <br /> and staff. <br /> Chair Jacobs said that this has been a problem before, and he does not want to wait <br /> more than a month or six weeks before minutes come back to the Board for approval.
