I
California
• Ground gypsum and wood chips may be incorporated into soil as soil amendments
Florida
• C &D debris may be disposed of on the property where it is generated, or on property
which is adjacent or contiguous to the property where it is generated, provided that
adjacent or contiguous property is owned by the generator of the C&D waste.
Illinois
• The practice of burying C &D on site is not addressed in the I.E.P.A. Waste Disposal
Regulations. On site burial of "clean construction or demolition debris" (as defined
above) is allowed. All other C &D must be disposed at either a municipal solid waste
landfill, or at a construction and demolition landfill.
Indiana
• Land clearing debris and clean fill may be buried on the site of generation. All other
C &D waste may not be buried on site.
Kentucky
• Kentucky's Permit -by -rule policy allows for the disposal of certain solid wastes by a
practice common to the industry, such as burial of C &D wastes by developers. This is
permitted as long s the burial does not pose a threat to human health or substantial
environmental impact. The following may be disposed of according to the Permit -by-
Rule policy:
Construction Wastes: One time disposal of construction material is permitted if disposal
is (a) at the point of generation; (b) during the period of construction; and (c) if the
wastes do not contain leachable hazardous constituents or asbestos.
Demolition Wastes: Disposal of demolition waste is permitted on the property where the
demolition occurs during the period of demolition except for materials containing
asbestos.
Land Clearing Debris: This is permitted if disposal occurs on the property where
clearing occurred.
Louisiana
• Persons wishing to bury C &D waste on site must notify the Solid Waste Division of
such activity for each site.
