Whenever Chapel Hill proposes to amend the text of its Land Development <br />Ordinance, and whenever Carrboro proposes to amend the text of its Land Use <br />Ordinance, the respective towns shall deliver a copy of the full text of the proposed <br />amendment to Orange County not later than tl~i~{39~ siz 60 days before the date <br />of the public hearing on any such amendment. u~--•°-•°- ~*'- ~'-° - •~*~°~ ° ~~ °~ <br />,' <br />. Unless Orange County files with the <br />respective towns a written objection on or before the date of the public hearing on the <br />proposed ordinance amendment, then adoption of the amendment by the respective <br />town shall automatically effect a corresponding amendment to the applicable <br />ordinance adopted by reference by Orange County as provided in Section 2.1C. Any <br />such objection shall be based on a determination by Orange County that the proposed <br />amendment is inconsistent with the adopted Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan. If a <br />town adopts an amendment despite Orange County's objection, then it shall refer such <br />amendment to Orange County with a request that the County make corresponding <br />changes as expeditiously as reasonably possible so that the town may continue to <br />enforce within its portion of the Transition azea the same standazds that it enforces <br />within its own planning jurisdiction.
