The district operates three high <br />schools, four middle schools, a~ ten elementary schools, a school for young <br />people being treated at UNC Hospital and an alternative program for high school <br />students. It operates .seven <br />elementary schools, three middle schools, and -two high schools, and an <br />alternative school. Orange County Schools has a projected enrollment of 7,000 <br />students for the 2008-2009 school year.
