<br />is <br />~CF~ '~=jEI~ <br />$~~ 4 9 ZaoB <br />BY: <br />September 8, 2008 <br />Barry Jacobs, Chair <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />PO Box 8181 <br />Hi(Isborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Commissioner Jacobs: <br />At its meeting on September 3, 2008, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of <br />Education approved the following resolution: <br />Be it, therefore, resolved that the Board of Education urges the Orange <br />County Board of Commissioners to increase the school impact fees in <br />order to provide a source of funding to construct new schools to keep <br />pace with the district's growing student population and the escalating cost <br />of construction. <br />Be it further resolved that the Board of Education urges the Orange <br />County Board of Commissioners to continue to reimburse the impact fee <br />for newly constructed affordable housing. <br />We look forward to further discussion on this important topic at our joint meeting <br />on September 25, 2008. <br />Sincerely, <br />Pamela S.
