BOCK ~ PACE 3~~ <br />Chairman Smith recognized W. Travis Porter, Attorney for E A A G, Inc. <br />Mr. Porter stated that E A A G, Ina, was planning to develop a housing development <br />on a tract of land boated near the Town of Mebane and that his client had <br />available the necessary funds for the construction of said project, however, <br />there were no waste disposal facilities available to the developer, other than <br />those now owned by the Town of Mebane. That the Town of Mebane oould not permit <br />the usage of the existing sewer lines because of a previous agreement entered into <br />between the Town of Mebane and the County of Orange. Mr. Porter suggested that <br />the Board of Commissioners consider amending their financial arrangements, as <br />far as the sewer line is concerned, with the Rown of Mebane in order that the <br />Town might be in a position to accept the eff~uent from the housing project. <br />No action was taken on the request of E A A Q, Inc. <br />The aleck was instructed to advise the Town of Mebane that the Board of <br />Commissioners would be willing to have a joint meeting in order that said request <br />might be discussed. A copy of the letter to the Town of Mebane was to be <br />forwarded to Ken W. Jacobs, representative of E A A C~, Inc. <br />Chairman Smith adjourned the Board of Commissioners and said meeting was <br />re-convened as a Board of Commissioners for the Grange County Housing Authority. <br />Chairman Smith recognised Coolidge Porterfield, Secretary of the Orange <br />County Housing Authority. Mr, Porterfield read the minutes of the Housing <br />Authority meetings. For other business of this meeting see minute docket of <br />the Orange County Housing Authority. <br />Chairman Smith adjourned the Board of Commissioners for the Orange County <br />Housing Authority meeting and said meeting was re-convened as a Board of County <br />Commissioners. <br />Chairman Smith recognized Fred Cates, Mayor of the Town of Hillsborough. <br />Mr. Cates requested that the Board send a representative to a luncheon meeting <br />which had been scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 1970, at twelve noon at the <br />Town Ha11 in Hillsborough. M.r. Cates stated that he was not at liberty, at <br />this time, to disclose the reason for said meeting. Chairman Smith appoiated <br />Commissioner Walker to represent the Board at the meeting. <br />Chairman Smith filed the following items with the Clerk: <br />1. Letter from the Women of Hillsborough Crafts regarding the events <br />at the recent Agricultural Fair. <br />2. Minutes Saint Orange-Chatham Community Action Agency, Ina. dated <br />May 5, 1970. <br />3. Report of the net aolleations received Prom the one cent sales tax. <br />1}. Letter from the State Highway Commission - Road leading from B6 to <br />Freeland Heights Subdivision. <br />5. Veterans Officera•Report. <br />b. Board minutes of the Health Planning Council for North Carolina dated <br />September 2, 1970. <br />7. Various pamphlets, magazines and aewsletters. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting the meeting <br />was adjourned to meet again on Monday, October s, 1970, at 8 P. M. in the <br />Courtroom at the Courthouse in $illsborough for the purpose of aonduating <br />a joint public hearing with the County Planning Board. <br />Carl M.
