Zoning Ordinance Tezt Amendments <br />(1) DeSnitions Regarding Flexible Development <br />PURPOSE: To consider proposed text amendments to Article 22, Definitions, of the Orange <br />County Zoning Ordinance. These changes to the zoning ordinance are proposed as companion <br />amendments with proposed amendments to subdivision regulations. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Reauestt Amendments propose changes to the zoning ordinance to define "flexible <br />development" and °open space' in a manner that is consistent with existing and proposed <br />provisions of the subdivision regulations. Proposed amendments to the subdivision regulations <br />(initiated by the Planning Board Ordinance Review Committee in December, 1998, to address <br />issues regarding flexible development) necessitate the amendments to the zoning ordinance. <br />Location: The amendments, if adopted, will apply to the entirety of Orange County lying <br />outside of the Rural Buffer and outside the municipalities and their extra-territorial jurisdictions, if <br />any. <br />Existins~ and Proposed Conditions <br />Existing: • "Flexible development" is defined according to the definition of flexible <br />development in the subdivision regulations.
