To consider approving an amendment to the Cooperative Agreement between Orange. <br />County and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for services performed as a <br />Capacity Building Agency during FFY: 99. <br />BACKGROUND: On September 29, 1998, the Board of Commissioners approved a Cooperative <br />Agreement with HUD for the period beginning the first (1~ day of October 1998 to the thirtieth (30~') day <br />of September 1999. On May 20, 1999, HUD amended the Cooperative Agreement proposing that <br />Capacity Building Agencies funded at $115,000. in FY' 99, instead of $100,000. On the September 27, <br />1999, the Department of Human Rights and Relations received a "Second Amendment -Cooperative <br />Agreement FY' 1999", from HUD proposing funding in the amount of $53,500 for the FFY beginning <br />Octobei 1, 1999. <br />FINANCIAL 1MPACT: This amendment would authorize the County to receive of $53,500, for <br />enforcement of Fair Housing activites in Orange Counties. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the amendment and <br />.authorize the Chair to sign the amendment. <br />
