Smith, Chairman <br />Betty June Rayea, Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTX <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />July 14, 1970 <br />The Orange County Beard of Commissioners met in adjourned aessian at 7:30 <br />P,M, on Tuesday, July 1l~, 1970, in the Commissioners Room of the Courthouse in <br />Rillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Commisaionera Harvey D. Bennett, <br />William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: None <br />r <br />Representatives Prom the Mebane Industrial Committee were present. Bill Hupman <br />was the spokesman Por the group. The purpose of this meeting was to diacusa the <br />possibility of Orange County establishing a policy which could be used by the <br />Industrial Development Cotrmiittee in their talks with various iaduatriea. Diacusaion <br />ensued relative to a policy which might be applied to the water and sewerage line <br />expense. <br />Upon motion of Commission Ward, seconded by Commisaioaer Ray, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted, that Orange County install xater and sewerage lines without <br />cost to proposed industry, provided the induatriea~ ad valorem taxes were sufficient <br />to amortize the cost oP the inata11at1on during a fSve gear period, if the proposed <br />property tax was not auPPicient to amortize itselY then an acreage fee aufPicient <br />to defray the difference would than be applied. <br />f _ <br />i] <br />
