25 <br />County Commissioners normally decide on the amendment at their first monthly meeting <br />following the Planning Board recommendation. Thus, there is a period of approximately two <br />months between the public hearing and a decision by the County Commissioners. <br />This short narrative has attempted to highlight the key features of land use planning in Orange <br />County relative to the Land Use Element of the Orange County Comprehensive Plan, Joint <br />Planning with Chapel Bill and Carrboro, and plan implementation and public participation.
