We are investigating <br />these inquiries, and will report back to the Board in the near future. Following is <br />a brief synopsis of the inquiries. New information added on 9/21 is shown <br />Bud Mayes "Mayes Hill", Cheeks TwQ) <br />23SR` <br />1 ~;,1~'°~ Mr. Mayes. has asked about the County's interest in purchase of three tracts <br />totaling 235 acres. Two of the tracts adjoin County-owned lands on Seven-Mile <br />Creek, and the land is within the critical area of Seven-Mile Creek watershed. <br />One piece contains a portion of an identified natural area from the 1989 <br />Inventory. Mr. Mayes and I visited the sites on Friday, September. 10 and <br />conducted a fo/%w-up visit on September 20 for photographs, <br />Timeframe for Sale: Intermediate (goal is end of year) <br />Potential Purpose: Watershed protection, low-impact recreation, portion of the <br />Seven-Mile Creek Bottomlands natural area <br />Cost Estimate: Unknown. "Ballpark" for all three pieces could be on the order <br />of $1 million. The owner is willing to sell parcels individually. <br />Potential Funding Sources: County: ERC (CIP) Fund, Parks land acquisition <br />bond, School/Park Reserve.
