2 <br />Specifically, the State Division of Community Assistance is requiring that this plan be approved by the <br />BOCC in order to be eligible for. grant funding.. The County has received numerous correspondences in <br />recent months from this state agency regarding the need for submission of the Plana, immediately. Thus, <br />the plan must be submitted to the BOCC on October 19th to establish the public comment period. The <br />BOCC will then be asked to consider approval of the Plan on November 2, 1999. The plan. must be - <br />submitted according to this schedule to avoid any future management findings. <br />The Fair Housing Plan is a separate document from the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community <br />Development Programs in Orange County, NC. <br />A draft Fair Housing Plan hasbeen developed for review.by local elected officials. After presentation to <br />the BOCC,. the plan will be made .available at all public libraries and the local offices of housing <br />organizations ,for the review and comments of the general public.
