C. <br />a <br />E. <br />3 <br />Economic Development Programs <br />1. An economic development district is noted on the County land use plan <br />within the four quadrants of the intersection of Buckhorn Road and I -85/1- <br />40. The JPA could address the following issues: <br />a. Economic Development District Design'Guidelines <br />b. Compatibility of residential and non - residential uses and rural <br />transition areas <br />c. Joint marketing of the area <br />d. Economic Development Incentives <br />Transportation Planning <br />1. Transportation .plans and initiatives in the City - County area are part of a <br />regional program of traffic control and enhancement. <br />2. The JPA would address the following issues: <br />a. Regional representation on transportation committees on the <br />185/140 corridor <br />b. Transportation nodes for Park and Ride lots <br />C. Appropriate location of high traffic generation uses <br />d. State road planning and interconnectivity in the subregion <br />Natural Resource Preservation <br />1. Natural resources are intrinsic to the environment that supports the high <br />quality of living standards expected in the City and County. <br />2. The JPA would address: <br />a. Watershed preservation <br />b. Conservation Areas <br />P. Public Services <br />1. The provision of public services can be greatly impacted by growth and <br />development. Sharing information, projecting needs, and gauging the <br />impacts upon services will assist in providing cost and efficient and timely <br />services by both City and County governments to residents and <br />businesses. <br />a. Schools <br />b. Police, Fire and EMS <br />C. Parks and Recreation <br />2 of 4 <br />
