Book 7- rcE 266 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the above <br />resolution entitled: "Resolution To Enter Agreement For North Carolina Local <br />Governmental Etnployaes~ Retirement System To Provide Employee Death Benefits, was <br />unanimously adopted and the clerk was authorized to certify to the North Carolina <br />Local Governmental Employeea~ Retirement System the action taken by the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, March 21a., 1970, at 3 P, M, <br />Carl M. Smith, Chairman <br />S, M, Gattia, Acting Clerk <br />_ MINDTES, OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSTOidERS <br />Marsh 2LE, 1970 <br />The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session at 3 P. M. <br />on Tuesday, March 21~.', 1970, in the Assembly Room of the Carrboro Town Hall, in <br />Carrboro, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M, Smith, and Comr~i.asionera Harvey D. Bennett, <br />William C. Ray and Henry S. Walker. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Tra A, Ward. <br />This meeting was held in conjunction with representatives of the U, S. Soil <br />& Water Conservation Service and was called for the purpose oP discussing the <br />possibility of constructing three additional lakes which would serve as a small <br />water shed and flood control project near the University Lake area, The Conservation <br />Service Agent stated that some preliminary study had been conducted and, on the <br />basis of this preliminary study, it was felt that a detail study of such water shed <br />project was warranted, however, the Conservation Service would want the approval <br />of all the Local Gov®rnmental units before they proceeded to move further with the <br />proposed project, <br />Chairman Smith advised the assembled group thati he. would arrange a meeting for <br />all interested governmental agencies for the purpose of pursuing the proposal. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />Carl M, Smith, Chairman <br />S, M.
