<br />MINUTES DF THE ORANGE COUNTY
<br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
<br />March l0, 1970
<br />The Hoard of Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session at 9
<br />P,M, on Tuesday, March 10, 1970, in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in
<br />Hillsborough, North Carolina.
<br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker
<br />and Ira A. Ward,
<br />Members Abs®nt: Commi.asioner Harvey D. Bennett.
<br />Discussion ensued relative to a Resolution which had been adopted by the
<br />Orange County Hcusing Authority at a meeting held earlier.
<br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Ray, aeaonded by Commissioner Walker, i.t was
<br />moved and unanimously adopted, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners
<br />approve the application for Pive hundred (SDO) housing units which would be made _
<br />to the Department of Housing and IIrban Development by the County Housing Authority.
<br />Chairman Smith presented a letter from the Health Planni.ag Council for Central
<br />North Carolina. Said letter recommended that L3~, W311iam J. Cromartie, Mrs.
<br />Frances Taylor and I?r, 0. David Garvin be appointed as members of the Health
<br />Planning Council for Central North Carolina Per terms whiah would expire on June
<br />18, 1970.
<br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved
<br />and unanimously adopted, that Dr, William J, Cromartie, Mr a. Franaea Taylor and Dr.
<br />0. David Garvin ba appointed as members of the Health Planning Council for Central
<br />North Carolina.
<br />Chairman Smith presented a letter from the County Planning Board. Said letter
<br />recommended that Section 7,3 of the Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance be deleted
<br />from said Drdinance. Discussion ensued.
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved
<br />and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board
<br />relative to the deletion of Section 7.3 of said Ordinance be adopted.
<br />Chairman Smith advised the Board that the County Planning Board recommended
<br />that Section 13.3.2 be amended by adding, aubetantially, the following wording:
<br />"one copy of a floor plan which may be a reasonable accurate sketch of the proposed
<br />building ' .
<br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Walker, it was moved
<br />and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning Board, that
<br />Section 13.3.2 of the Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance be amended.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned
<br />to meet again on Tuesday, Marsh 17, 1970, with representatives oP the Durham
<br />Ambulance Service.
