The New Construction program allows officials of local <br />governments to identify housing units for which basic construction will be completed (closing <br />the structure from the elements) by Census Day, April 1, 2000. Every new address identified <br />during this review will receive a visit from a Census 2000 enumerator during the summer of <br />2000, to enumerate the occupants of the address and include them in the count. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Craig Benedict as the New Construction Program Liaison and <br />authorize the Chair to sign the Participation Registration. <br />H:\agn new constr program.doc <br />
