Funds for arts programming reflect the racial <br />and cultural diversity of Orange County. Each organization receiving a Grassroots Grant <br />matches the grant amount with local dollars in order to receive an award. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Funds ($25,387) are provided by the North Carolina Arts Council for distribution by the Arts <br />Commission. No Orange County funds are used for Grassroots Grants. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board acknowledge the local <br />recipients of the awards during the November 3, 1999 meeting with the presentation of checks <br />by the Board Chair, Alice Gordon. <br />
