6~oK :i PacE 244 <br />Coolidge Porterfield requested that the Board designate a day meeting in <br />order that they might inspect various Public Rouging Authority Projects. Saturday, <br />January l7th was designated as the day for said Public Rousing Authority meeting. <br />Chairman Smith read a letter from Lester C. Lemon of 79 Ramilton Road, <br />Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Mr. Lemon was requesting that the late fee charged - <br />against his personal property tax bill be released. <br />Norman Long, Zoning Officer, was present to present the following <br />recommendations from^the County Planning Board: f <br />1. The request of Mr. A. T. Williams that property of Mr. & Mrs. <br />Clarence Dixion, be re-zoned Prom a Residential District to a <br />Creneral Commercial Diatriat. This property is boated on the <br />West aide of Righway 86 North of Chapel Hill and is adjacent <br />to property presently in a General Commercial District. 2.25 acres. <br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Ward, aeaonded by Commissioner Walker, <br />it was moved and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the <br />County Planning Board relative to the request oP Mr. & Mr a. Clarence <br />Dixion be approved. <br />2. That the request from Mra. Althea Beecher for re-zoning of her <br />property located on the West aide of Murphy School Road from a <br />Residential District to a Mobile Rom® Park District be approved. <br />This property contains 5 acres. <br />Upvn motion oP Commissioner Walker, aeaonded by Commissioner Ray, <br />it wee moved and unanimously adopted, that the recovanandation of the <br />County Planning Board relative to the request of Mrs. Althea Beecher <br />be approved. <br />3. The request of Mr. Walton Lloyd that his property containing 15,000 <br />square feet be re-zoned from a Residential District to a Rural <br />Commercial District. This property is on the Last aide of Righway <br />86 North of Chapel Rill and has on it commercial businesses at <br />this time. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bennett, aeaonded by Commissioner <br />Ward, it wsa monad and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of <br />the County Planning Board relative to the request of Mr. Walton Lloyd <br />be approved. <br />!}. That a new Section 10.5 be added to the Zoning Ordinance setting <br />standards and procedure for granting of permits for Radio, Television, <br />and Micro-Wave Relay Transmission Facilities. <br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Walker, aeaonded by Commissioner Ray, <br />it was moved and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the <br />County Planning Board relative to adding a new Section 10.5 be approved. <br />Section 10.5 Radio;.Teleniaion, and Micro-Wave Relay Transmission <br />Facilities <br />Tha Orange County Board of Adjustment shall be empowered to issue Radio, <br />Televiaivn, and Micro-Wave Relay Transmission Facilities Installation <br />permits when it shall make the following findings: <br />10.5.1. That the minimum lot area provided shall. be 5 acres. <br />10.5.2. That a buffer strip oP not lase than 150 feet measured <br />from all exterior property lines and main traveled road- <br />way right-of-way lines be provided within which no <br />structures are erected, within which no vehicular parking <br />is permitted, and within which no storage of materials is <br />allowed. <br />10.5.3. That there be np radio or television studio buildings <br />on the premises, that structures be used to house trans- <br />mission equipment and personnel only. <br />The Board of Adjustment shall impose such reasonable and appropriate <br />terms, conditions, safeguards and requirements upon the issuance of a <br />Radio, Television and Micro-Wave Relay Transmission Facilities Installation <br />permit as it may deem necessary to protect the publin and neighboring <br />property ownors against adverse effects, including the requirement that <br />there be no diolation of the above findings. <br />
