ATTACHMENT 2 <br />DURHAM <br />CHAPEL HILL CARRBORO <br />L <br />METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT REQUEST <br />Proiect Title: NC 86 Bicycle Lanes (Paved Shoulders) <br />Estimated Cost: $1,000,000 <br />Reauestina Agency: Orange County <br />Proiect Description: Provide paved shoulders along NC 86 from Hillsborough to <br />Chapel Hill. <br />Proiect Justification: This road is popular route for bicyclists to travel from Chapel <br />Hill to the rural roads that intersect with NC86; two new <br />schools have been constructed along NC 86; and this route <br />is part of the DCHC Regional Bicycle Plan and the NCDOT <br />TIP Project E -2913. <br />Proiect Evaluation Criteria - <br />1.
