The purpose of the Regional Priority <br />List is to determine the region's project priorities for the development of a fiscally constrained <br />Durham - Chapel Hill - Carrboro Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program. <br />BACKGROUND: Biannually, the North Carolina Board of Transportation (BOT) adopts a multi- <br />year State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) that specifies needed transportation <br />improvements across the state. On the regional level, the Durham- Chapel Hill- Carrboro <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) develops the DCHC Metropolitan Transportation <br />Improvement Program (MTIP) that specifies needed transportation improvements in the urban <br />area. Orange County submits its requested projects to be included in Regional Priority List that is <br />then submitted by the DCHC MPO to NC DOT and the BOT for consideration in the development of <br />the STIP. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None at this time. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board receive the report only for <br />information at this time. <br />
