Chapter 5 Solid Waste Advisory Board/C &D Task Force Role <br />It is our understanding that the Solid Waste Advisory Board (SWAB) will perform as an advisory <br />board, reporting directly to the Board of County Commissioners. The Interlocal Agreement <br />establishes the board and contains provisions relating to its membership, responsibilities, terms, <br />voting, and procedures. The board may adopt its own rules of procedure not inconsistent with the <br />provisions of the Interlocal Agreement or policies and procedures governing the various boards and <br />commissions of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Regarding the C &D Task Force, we understand that it also will advise the BOCC directly, but with <br />a more limited charge relating to construction and demolition recycling issues. Additionally, the <br />Task Force will not be permanent, as is the SWAB, but exist only for a limited duration of 6 <br />months. <br />The Solid Waste Management Department will assist the County Manager in providing staff <br />support for both groups. <br />34 <br />
