Description of criteria used for <br />identifying potential sites for a C &D landfill. Reply to LOG member query. That stated 16 sites <br />were identified, none of which was ultimately found suitable. <br />May, 1999: Construction and Demolition Waste Reduction Program and Ordinance <br />The report summarizes the possible approaches to regulating construction and demolition waste. <br />The resolution from the LOG recommends that the County develop a single county -wide <br />ordinance regulating C &D waste rather than have each jurisdiction establish its own regulatory <br />procedures. <br />B. Regulatory Measures <br />One of the two general approaches to reducing construction wastes involves use of a <br />combination of regulatory measures and pricing tools to control the management of C &D debris. <br />One C &D management model couples use of these regulatory and pricing measures with source - <br />separated processing and marketing of materials at a centralized, publicly controlled site. The <br />other general approach is to construct and operate a centralized sorting facility to separate and <br />process mixed C &D materials. The sorting facility approach is addressed in section C2 below. <br />Section B immediately below focuses on the first approach. Section C1 focuses on the corollary <br />processing and sorting of the source - separated materials. <br />22 <br />
