The Board may also wish to discuss the process for, and timing of, the necessary <br />zoning of the designated 60 acres of the Greene Tract to permit certain solid waste activities, as <br />contemplated in the approved Solid.Waste Interlocal Agreement (see Attachment 1 -a). <br />b. Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling and Disposal Options <br />The Board requested a report on options available for the recycling and disposal of C &D waste. <br />Chapel Hill Solid Waste staff have prepared the report at Attachment 1 -b. Staff will be prepared <br />to respond to the Board's questions, and to accept the Board's direction on subsequent steps to <br />be taken related to C &D recycling and disposal. Staff will also present information on a <br />discussion between the County Manager and staff at the State's Solid Waste Division that <br />relates to the process and timing of the submission of a permit application for a possible <br />Eubanks Road C &D site. <br />c. "Future Search" Process for Solid Waste Management <br />Triangle J Council of Governments (TJCOG) has convened regular meetings of the region's <br />local government solid waste planners since 1991. This group, the Triangle Region Solid <br />Waste Planners Committee, recently issued a report urging the Triangle's local governments to <br />work more closely on planning infrastructure to manage solid waste beyond the next ten years. <br />As a means to initiate productive action on a regional level, the Triangle Region Solid Waste <br />Planners Committee is proposing that the region conduct a "Future Search," which is a <br />
